Building independent technology products from Jaipur
Why AMEYOR built products before services, how a one-founder studio stays honest about its shape, and what building for ₹0 upfront teaches.
By Yashvardhan Thanvi, founder of AMEYOR
AMEYOR is a sole proprietorship in Jaipur, registered in October 2026, with one founder who designs, builds and ships everything. That is an unusual shape for a company that operates two technology products and takes on client work, so it is worth explaining why it looks the way it does, and what that means for the people who work with it.
Products first, then services
Many studios start with client work and hope to build a product later. AMEYOR went the other way. LLMSlim began as an open-source compression library and became a context platform for AI agents. Krishyak began as a crop-disease classifier and became an agricultural decision platform.
Building products first had a useful side effect: every method we now offer clients has already been tested on something we had to live with ourselves. Evaluation harnesses, offline-first progressive web apps, consent flows, language packs, model cards, release discipline: none of these are slideware. They exist in code that real people use.
Small by design
A one-person studio cannot be everything, and pretending otherwise helps no one. So the constraints are written down:
- Limited concurrent projects. Quality falls apart when attention is split too many ways.
- Business-hours support, India time. No 24/7 promises that a solo founder could not keep.
- Written scopes. Every engagement starts with deliverables, exclusions and a quotation that shows GST.
- Honest claims. If a benchmark is synthetic, it is labelled synthetic. If a partnership is proposed, it is called proposed.
These are not apologies. They are the reason clients get senior attention on every decision rather than a hand-off to people they never meet.
Building for ₹0 of upfront cost
Independent building teaches a particular discipline: spend nothing that the product has not earned. This website is a good example. It is a static export that runs on a free hosting tier, with fonts bundled locally, images optimised at build time and no paid CMS, database or analytics. The contact form sends through an optional free Cloudflare Worker, and when that is not configured it says so plainly instead of pretending to submit.
We bring the same habit to client projects. Free tiers are not always the right answer, but they are the right starting point, and nobody should pay for infrastructure before they need it. When a project does need paid services, the cost is named before anyone commits.
Why Jaipur
Jaipur is home, and it is a good place to build. The cost of living makes patient, careful work possible. The state's agricultural context made Krishyak's problems concrete rather than abstract. And being outside the usual startup hubs encourages a useful humility: the work has to speak for itself, with evidence.
What comes next
The near-term plan is simple. Prove LLMSlim on live workloads with design partners. Run a first consented Krishyak pilot with an FPO or NGO. Take on a small number of client projects where AMEYOR's experience genuinely helps. And keep publishing what we learn, with its limits attached.
If any of that overlaps with what you are building, start a conversation.
